Pastors are trained in seminary to teach and preach the gospel, then they're sent into an all-volunteer organization and expected to know how to manage the financial, facility, staff, and human resources issues. Sue Mallory says that many pastors have told her how they long to have an equipping church where the saints are empowered to be partners in ministry, but they have little clarity or training as to what their role is in the process.
