OVERCOMING BARRIERS TO SERVING

Overcoming Barriers to Serving

In sales, they call them "objections." There can be lots of reasons a person might be reluctant to committing to serve. The biggest key to overcoming these barriers is understanding the person as clearly as possible. Barriers tend to melt away if you're proposing that a person try a ministry that fits their gifts, skills, and passions, but you can't really know what those are until you've talked with the person in depth. So we suggest you click on the Interviewing link in the left column for more information on that part of the process. and on the Assessments link in the Tools menu for things that can help you discover their strengths. In the meantime, here are a couple of other resources you might find helpful.
