When Susan J. Ellis of energizeinc.com published the Top 10 Reasons Why Volunteers Leave, I read the list quickly, anxious to get to number one. When I got there, I have to admit, I was a little surprised. I mean I knew this was important, but I had no idea it would rank in the top slot. If only more church volunteer leaders knew this, perhaps it would change the way they approached leadership.
Oh…you want to know what it was…?
Well, according to Susan, the number one reason people quit volunteering was (drum roll please):
It stopped being fun.
