Most of my congregation are PSU and Paterno fans. Several people, including a fellow clergyman, defended Paterno saying "I would have done the same thing Paterno did." This greatly disturbs me. "Fear of jeopardizing the university procedure" is more important than calling the police on a child sex offender? This statement shocks me that a Christian could think this way.I agree 100% with your statement that we must never be guilty of this sort of reasoning.
