Recently, I read Mark Batterson’s book, The Circle Maker (which I highly recommend…it just won the Christian Retailers Award in the prayer category!) It was such an inspiring book, but it also motivated me to action. One thing that really stuck with me was the story of Jesus’ exchange with blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10. Bartimaeus was crying out to Jesus when Jesus stopped, looked straight at him and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” Once Bartimaeus identified what he needed, Jesus healed him.

I was so challenged by this! How often are we just going through life…going through the motions, and we haven’t really stopped to identify what we want and need from God.

in your family
your friendships
your church
your ministry
your heart?

I challenge you to wrestle with this, and then take time to answer in a journal, in prayer, or with a friend. God wants to do so much for us! We just need to ask…
