5. How will CVC help me train my volunteers?
Equipping volunteers is one of the most important things you can do. It causes several good things to happen:
- It lets volunteers know the church thinks their service is important
- It prepares them to succeed in ministry
- It builds their confidence
- It makes it far more likely they will stay in this ministry
Church Volunteer Central offers a series of online training classes which you can send to your volunteers. They can train at their convenience. You’ll automatically receive confirmation that they’ve taken the class and how they scored. It’s a great way for you to ensure they’re prepared for the job ahead.
Also included is an online spiritual gift assessment which will help your volunteers understand their gifting, so they can find the best match for ministry involvement.
6. Can CVC help me connect with other equipping leaders?
CVC offers regional networks so like-minded professionals can connect in purpose, in prayer, in encouragement, and in fun!
We work together to explore the biblical foundations that call us to multiply ministry. We call it creating an “Ephesians 4 culture.” TeamCVC lets us join our hearts and resources to be a part of something significant that God is doing. So join a network near you and get ready to experience the thrill, challenge, and exhilaration of this movement. We’ll travel this road together.
You can also connect online at CVC Blog. There’s always a conversation waiting for you to join!
7. How is Church Volunteer Central related to Group?
Church Volunteer Central is a part of Group Publishing, Inc.
Group has worked with churches for over 35 years, and has long recognized the need for volunteer solutions. A 2002 summit involving George Gallup confirmed our research: volunteerism is changing in America. Churches just can’t do what they’ve always done—not if they expect to survive.
In early 2003 a retreat was held at Group with 15 of the nation’s leading experts in the field of volunteer leadership. Churches told us they didn’t want another book, video, or magazine to help them be more effective—they wanted a holistic team approach. The seeds were planted to start an association—and Church Volunteer Central was launched in January 2004.
CVC continues to benefit from Group’s ongoing efforts to learn about and deliver solutions for the church’s biggest challenges.
