Equipping volunteers is one of the most important things you can do. It causes several good things to happen, including:
- It lets them know the church thinks their service is important
- It prepares them to succeed in ministry
- It builds their confidence
- For these reasons and more, it makes it far more likely they will stay in this ministry
To help you equip your people, we have put together dozens of online training classes. These are designed to be fairly short and straightforward; something the average person can complete in less than half an hour at their own computer. There is no extra charge for our members; you may use as many classes as you like for all who serve in your church.
Start by becoming acquainted with the classes currently available. You can browse the classes online, or download the printable version. As you look through the list, you'll probably think of people that you'd like to see benefit from several of the classes. You can see that many classes have a test associated with them. Please remember that this isn't supposed to be a stressful "make a good grade" situation. Rather, it's a way of letting the student know whether they've really understood the material or not. They have the ability to go through the material again and retake the test as many times as they like.
We use a process of "assigning" classes to people, because you may not want to make all the students part of your Church Volunteer Central membership. It doesn't cost you anything to add them to your membership, and it gives them access to all the features of the association. It's as easy as clicking on the link in the left column marked "Add Users to Your Membership." But in case you choose not to add all your students to your membership, we've made it possible for them to still take classes.
When you're ready to proceed, click on the Setup A Class button below, and we'll show you how to get started. Don't worry; you can start by assigning a class to yourself so you can walk through the process first.
